Title: Recreational Gymnastics Coach
Department: Gymnastics
Supervisor: Gymnastics Coordinator
Status: Part-Time / Hourly / Non-Exempt
Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Gymnastics experience preferred.
Position Summary
The Recreational Gymnastics Coach is responsible for providing safe, positive, and engaging gymnastics instruction for participants of all ages and skill levels. Coaches teach fundamental gymnastics skills while promoting confidence, physical fitness, coordination, sportsmanship, and personal growth in a fun and structured environment. This position requires a flexible schedule, including afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays for recreational classes, Open Gym, birthday parties, camps, special events, and other gymnastics programs as assigned.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Teach recreational gymnastics classes following Camden Gymnastics curriculum.
- Provide a safe and positive learning environment.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and secure environment by continuously monitoring participants, equipment, and activity areas to help prevent injuries and ensure the well-being of all children.
- Teach age-appropriate gymnastics skills and progressions.
- Spot participants safely during skill instruction.
- Plan lessons appropriate for each age and skill level.
- Monitor attendance and maintain records.
- Communicate professionally with parents.
- Set up, inspect, and put away gymnastics equipment.
- Enforce Camden County PSA safety policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized gymnastics facility.
- Assist with class placements, camps, clinics, exhibitions, and community events.
- Supervise Saturday Open Gym sessions.
- Assist with birthday parties including setup, supervision, and cleanup.
- Attend staff meetings and training.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
