Turner Industries Group has an opening for a Recruiter to join our team in the Lake Charles, LA area. The Recruiter will recruit and process candidates for open positions throughout the company. Responsible for delivering all facets of recruiting success throughout the organization. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Salary Recruiting Supervisor / Personnel Manager; Performs a variety of routine duties within established policies.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma plus minimum of four (4) to five (5) years personnel experience or equivalent combinations of training, education, and related experience
  • Work experience as an HR Recruiter or similar role
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of corporate, policies and standards
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems and resume databases
  • Experience with sourcing techniques
  • Understanding of referral program (CraftTrax)
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
  • Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others at the workplace


Functional Requirements:

Maintain and update a log of current craft employees and potential candidates, Develop an extensive network of craft professionals in advance of needs, Analyze craft personnel needs, job descriptions, and rates for current projects, Efficiently and effectively fill open positions, Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation, Review information provided on prospective employee applications, Conduct personnel interviews and determine suitability for employment, Work with hiring managers to understand immediate and future needs, facilitate interviews and obtain feedback, negotiate rates, and place craft professionals to ensure client satisfaction, Coordinate and attend job fairs, trade events, open houses, and other necessary networking/recruiting events, Travel to project locations to build relationships with Superintendents, PMs, and project teams. Stay up to date with industry trends, Review job descriptions and correspond with hiring managers for updated descriptions when necessary, Post openings with professional organization, on the internet, and in other appropriate venues, Source candidates through various methods including trade schools, referrals, cold calling, data mining, social media, networking, associations/societies, job boards, ATS, etc., Facilitate the transfer of personnel from project to project, Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement:

This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Employee may be required to do the following: reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; standing; sitting; walking; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction; following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills; ability to recognize and report safety hazards.
