Recruitment Specialist - Human Resources

Hours: Monday to Friday, based on organizational requirements.

Rate of Pay: $ 33.10 – $ 39.30 per hour (Starting salary will be determined by relevant experience, qualifications, internal equity, and market conditions.)

How You Will Make an Impact

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Human Resources, the Recruitment Specialist supports full-cycle recruitment and provides positive, timely, and equitable experience for candidates and hiring managers.

  • Partner with hiring managers to confirm staffing needs, requirements, timelines, and selection criteria.
  • Create and maintain job descriptions, postings, screening questions, templates, and recruitment materials.
  • Post positions through the ATS and external recruitment platforms and adjust sourcing strategies as required.
  • Review applications, shortlist candidates, and conduct initial screens/interviews.
  • Coordinate interviews, assessments, video prescreens, reference checks, employment verifications, and pre-employment screening.
  • Maintain professional candidate communication and support hiring managers with selection and offer/onboarding processes.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential recruitment records, requisitions, applications, references, postings, and hiring documentation.
  • Provide ATS support, manage user access, archive postings, troubleshoot issues, and liaise with vendor support.
  • Track and report recruitment activity, posting performance, time-to-fill, and candidate pipeline metrics.
  • Provide recruitment and ATS guidance and training to hiring managers and maintain process guides.
  • Participate in career fairs, recruitment events, external platform meetings, employer branding, and sourcing activities.
  • Ensure recruitment practices comply with legislation, privacy requirements, collective agreements, policies, and Good Shepherd procedures.
  • Support fair, consistent, inclusive recruitment practices and identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes and the candidate experience.
  • Follow all health and safety requirements and perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

  • Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4–6 years of recruitment, talent acquisition, Human Resources, or related experience.
  • CHRP designation or working toward the designation is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of full-cycle recruitment, sourcing, screening, interviewing, references, pre-employment screening, and offers.
  • Experience with ATS and recruitment tools; ApplicantPro, ADP, iSolve, Wedge, Indeed, or similar platforms are assets.
  • Ability to develop clear job postings, screening questions, recruitment materials, and candidate communications.
  • Knowledge of employment legislation, privacy requirements, and recruitment best practices.
  • Strong organizational, communication, computer, interpersonal, and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, collaboration, and commitment to professional, respectful service.
