Core Duties & Responsibilities

• Preventive Maintenance (PM): Conducts scheduled inspections, greases bearings, tightens belts, and replaces worn-out components to prevent unexpected breakdowns.
• Equipment Repair & Rebuilding: Troubleshoots, repairs, or rebuilds major MRF machinery, including:
• Balers and wire-tie systems
• Conveyor belts, rollers, and gear motors
• Disc/sorting screens, optical sorters, and eddy current/magnetic separators
• Hydraulic power packs, pumps, and pneumatic systems
• Electrical & Controls Troubleshooting: Diagnoses motor drives, electrical panels, sensors, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) (often with the help of electrical specialists).
• Safety & Compliance: Follows OSHA guidelines, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, and company life-critical safety rules.
• Documentation: Logs daily equipment inspections (DEI), tracks maintenance backlogs, and orders replacement parts and supplies.
