Reference Data Analyst
We are looking for a Reference Data Operations Analyst to support the quality and maintenance of critical financial data used across trading, risk, and operational processes.
This is an operations- and business-focused role, not a software development position. You will work with reference and security data, investigate data issues, ensure compliance with data standards, and help improve processes through SQL, Python, AI, and automation.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and validate security and reference data across financial instruments.
Investigate and resolve data quality issues and exceptions.
Analyze financial datasets and confidently work with SQL queries.
Support automation initiatives using Python and AI tools.
Collaborate with data providers, Operations, Risk, Finance, and Technology teams.
Identify potential data issues and act as a quality gatekeeper.
Contribute to improving data controls, workflows, and operational processes.
Requirements
3–4+ years of relevant experience in reference data, securities operations, fund administration, or a similar financial environment.
Strong understanding of data quality and operational controls.
Confident working with SQL and discussing query results.
Experience with Python and automation is highly desirable.
Interest in AI and emerging technologies.
Knowledge of equities, bonds, and options is beneficial.
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
Ability to identify issues, challenge data quality, and work effectively with business and technology stakeholders.
