Refinishing Specialist
Job Summary
The Refinishing Specialist is responsible for cleaning, preparing, and repairing instrument and valve components prior to painting or refinishing. This role uses blasting equipment, sanding tools, and fillers to remove coatings, rust, dirt, and imperfections while ensuring components are ready for the next stage of production.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate bead blasting, grit blasting, and Metfin equipment to remove paint, rust, dirt, and other surface contaminants from metal, plastic, aluminum, fiberglass, and stainless steel components.
- Maintain part identification and ensure tags remain accurate throughout the process.
- Move cleaned and prepared parts to designated work areas.
- Inspect components for damage, wear, or surface imperfections.
- Repair blemishes and defects using approved fillers and repair materials.
- Use grinders, dual-action sanders, and hand sanding tools to prepare surfaces for refinishing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Previous blasting, sanding, body repair, or paint preparation experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a dusty shop environment while wearing required PPE.
- Regular work schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM.
- Overtime may be required based on workload.
