Refrigeration Technician
Position Summary
The Industrial Refrigeration Mechanic/Technician is responsible for maintaining and operating Freon-based refrigeration systems. This role involves troubleshooting, inspecting, and repairing refrigeration components and associated systems to ensure efficient and safe operations. The technician must also follow all safety policies and procedures while working in varied conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair Freon refrigeration system components, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, and sensors.
- Weld and install copper piping and ensure proper system connections.
- Inspect equipment for defects, irregularities, or signs of malfunction.
- Diagnose and repair issues involving electrical wiring and motor control systems.
- Adjust and regulate system pressures and temperatures to maintain operational standards.
- Replace filters, sensors, and fan motors as needed to ensure efficient equipment function.
- Read and interpret pressure gauges and other diagnostic instruments accurately.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and guidelines during installation, repair, and maintenance activities.
- Support the department with additional duties as assigned to meet plant needs.
