Regional Account Manager -
Turn your love of great food into a career
Do you get genuinely excited about a beautiful ingredient? Are you at your best when you’re out meeting people, building relationships and helping them succeed?
At Albion Fine Foods, we supply fine and speciality ingredients to restaurants, hotels, cafés, bars, delis, farm shops, golf clubs and caterers. We’re looking for a Regional Account Manager to look after our customers across Oxford, Cambridge, Northampton and the surrounding areas, and help us grow long-term partnerships with the hospitality businesses we serve. In terms of geographical coverage this role will include Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire.
This is primarily a Monday to Friday role, but some flexibility to work outside of normal office hours will be needed, i.e. weekend or evening visits to customers.
You’ll be the face of Albion for your patch. That means getting to know the kitchens and shelves you supply, understanding what they need and helping them make the most of our range. Day to day, you’ll:
- Build real relationships. Look after existing customers so they feel informed, valued and appreciated, and find and welcome new ones who’d love what we do.
- Talk food. Share your knowledge of fine and speciality ingredients with confidence and enthusiasm. Run tastings, demos and showcases to help customers choose the right products for their menus or shelves.
- Stay ahead of the curve. Keep up with local food trends, emerging ingredients and what the competition is up to.
- Be part of the team. Work closely with colleagues to keep customer onboarding smooth, stock available and service great, and visit Albion HQ in Dartford regularly to catch up in person.
- Get out and about. Attend food shows, trade events and promotional activities, representing Albion professionally.
- Stay organised. Keep customer records and follow-ups accurate and up to date.
Why you’ll love it
- Autonomy. You’ll have real control over your day and your travel plans across a varied territory. No two days look the same.
- A role built around food. Tastings, trends, new ingredients and trade shows keep you close to the products and people who make this industry exciting.
- Real relationships. This is about long-term partnerships, not one-off sales. You’ll get to know your customers and see them grow.
- A supportive team. You’ll work independently, but with colleagues at HQ who are right behind you.
- No sales background required. Passion for great food matters more to us than a traditional sales CV. While it would suit someone with previous experience, it also might work for someone with a chef background).
About you
- A genuine interest in food, especially fine and speciality ingredients
- A warm, personable style and the ability to build trust quickly
- A confident, persuasive communicator with strong written and verbal skills
- Self-motivated, organised and happy working independently
- Energetic, proactive, commercially aware and adaptable
- Comfortable working with numbers and data
- Comfortable with everyday IT (email, spreadsheets, messaging apps)
- A full UK driving licence
- Experience in hospitality, food service or sales is helpful, as is any experience building strong customer relationships in a professional setting
