Objective / Summary of the Position

The primary role of the Commercial Manager is to prospect for new clients and build new business pipeline by networking, cold calling, or any other means of generating interest from potential clients. He/she must then plan persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince potential clients to do business with the Company. Developing a rapport with new clients is a key part of the job role.

Duties & Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Prospect potential new clients and turn this into increased profitable business for Groups’ contract logistics products and services
  • Ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities. Identify and meet potential clients and decision makers by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network
  • Present the Group’s products and services to potential clients; ensure their knowledge on capabilities and services are relevant and up to date
  • Use tools such as social media to research and build relationships with new clients
  • Screen potential RFI/RFP by analyzing tender information and evaluate internal fit and recommend next steps
  • Plan approaches and pitches. Work with internal teams to develop proposals and pricing the solution/service that speaks to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives; proceed timely submissions

RFI/RFP Data Analysis, Presentation and Recommendation

  • Prepare the appropriate questionnaire for data collection from clients. Analyze data and present it to the client with an optimal and cost-efficient solution
  • Collaborate with Project Team, Cost Modelling, Operations and ITS teams to build an optimal solution; present findings and recommendations
  • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements and solutions globally; develop and negotiate contracts and integrate contract requirements with business operations
  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation and transition to Account Management team upon new business is awarded

Business Development Planning and Toolkit

  • Attend industry functions such as events and conferences and provide feedback and information on market and trends
  • Use knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators
  • Develop toolkit - Case studies, Global presentation decks, Biographies and other materials
  • Identify opportunities for social media selling, campaigns, and other channels that will lead to an increase in business conversion

Requirements:-

  • At least 5 – 8 years ofrelevant experience in a Third Party Logistics Company
  • Vertical exposures toFashion & Lifestyle, Food & Beverage, FMCG, Electronics, Pharmaceuticalwill be an advantage
  • Demonstrate basicunderstanding of modern Distribution Center operations for different verticals/ customers
  • Demonstrate basicunderstanding of e-commerce technology, local and cross border fulfillment
  • Strong ability tounderstand, communicate with, and effectively interact with people acrosscultures and countries
  • Good analytical, conceptualthinking and problem- solving skills
  • Good command of Mandarin, English, bothspoken and written
  • Advancedin MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint applications
