Regional Business Development Manager - Life Sciences

Job Description:

  • Develop and execute regional business development strategies to achieve annual business plans, revenue targets, and growth objectives for Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand & Taiwan
  • Identify, develop, and manage key accounts across the region, implementing strong account strategies to drive business expansion and customer retention
  • Pursue strategic purchase agreements, service contracts, and long-term partnerships with key customers
  • Prepare and implement strategic business and marketing plans for targeted industries and applications
  • Support sales forecasting, pipeline development, and business opportunity tracking
  • Support pre-sales activities including customer discussions, technical evaluations, proof-of-concept studies, seminars, workshops, and instrument demonstration, collaborate closely with sales teams, distributors, and channel partners, Strengthen the capability of local sales channels through technical guidance, application support, and market intelligence
  • Provide application-level scientific support as needed to customers, sales teams, and channel partners, including Experimental workflow consultation, Assay development support, Imaging application expertise, Scientific troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Analyze experimental results and application data using appropriate analytical tools and methodologies
  • Translate complex scientific findings into practical customer recommendations and business value propositions
  • Monitor emerging trends and developments in Life Sciences and Biotechnology, including Advanced Cell Biology, Gene Editing Technologies, Drug Discovery and Development, High-Content Imaging and Analysis
  • Continuously review scientific publications, patents, research papers, and industry developments to identify new business and application opportunities
  • Assess competitive market conditions and communicate market intelligence, customer needs, and competitor activities to management
  • Identify and articulate key product differentiators that position Yokogawa solutions favorably against competitive offerings
  • Contribute to marketing campaigns, promotional activities, and customer-facing scientific content
  • Support the development of value propositions, application notes, case studies, and technical marketing materials

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Biotechnology or Molecular Biology or related domain
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience with a successful track record in scientific instruments, High Content Analysis/Imaging, microscopy systems or related Life Science applications
  • Experience supporting academic research, drug discovery/screening, biotechnology/pharmaceutical customers, universities, hospitals or research institutes is preferred
  • Strong presentation, interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with scientists, customers, distributors and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to troubleshoot scientific/application challenges and propose practical experimental or workflow solutions. &Experience with data analysis tools and the ability to interpret and communicate scientific results will be added advantage
  • Ability to understand and discuss scientific literature, including research papers, patents and emerging breakthroughs
  • Strong understanding of current biotechnology and drug discovery trends; knowledge of relevant regulatory guidelines (e.g.,FDA, EMA or ICH) is an advantage
