Regional Construction Manager

Position Summary:

Manage capital expenditures for store construction projects (e.g. new/expansion remodels/within-the-walls remodels /fuel centers). Oversee/direct construction activities (e.g. site feasibility/mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) design/structural design/analysis/contractors) independently or with senior construction manager. Serve as a contact for the local division Real Estate Manager, V.P. and President. Essential Job Functions:
• Oversee /direct multiple store construction projects (e.g. new/expansion remodels/within-the-walls remodels /fuel centers), including site investigation for feasibility.
• Develop/execute new store, remodel and fuel programs. Execute completion at or under budget and in the shortest time period, consistent with merchandising and store operations needs and contract specifications.
• Develop site plans, architectural, structural, MEP design analysis and estimated costs.
• Bid/award construction contracts, negotiate changes and supervise construction.
• Provide allocation/management of capital and capital projects using the company's processes/procedures.
• Accountability to oversee documentation/compliance of SWPPP, OSHA regulations, construction contracts and capital management practices.
• Partner with Legal to represent the company regarding legal issues (i.e. arbitrations, compliance issues).
• Manage/provide guidance regarding non-union/union labor issues and/or disputes.
• Anticipate opportunities/events that impact the schedule.
• Train/lead/direct the work of internal/external resources (i.e. project managers, contractors and consultants).
• Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.

Desired Education and Previous Job Experience
• Experience in regional construction projects including due diligence and project planning
• Experience/knowledge related to: the maintenance/energy fields; store planning processes/procedures; store mechanical services processes/procedures
• Knowledge of equipment purchasing software (e-Pro) and the construction project management tool (Sitefolio)
• Regional Project Manager/Division Project Manager
Minimum Position Qualifications:
• 5 years field construction project management experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Construction Management or Architecture or related field
• Understanding allocation/management of capital/capital project's processes/procedures
• Interpret construction documents/financial information
• Demonstrated ability/sound judgment with limited supervision
• Success leading contractors and retail management
• Knowledge of equipment purchasing software (e-Pro), construction project management tool (Sitefolio)-Internal candidates
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Understanding of partnering department's roles and responsibilities (i.e. Store Planning, Procurement, Maintenance, Energy, Mechanical Services)
• Organization and time management skills
• Supervisory/leadership, conflict management and negotiation skills
• Communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and external vendors
• Ability to travel independently (75%)
