Job Summary

The Regional Director of Sales partners with property-based Directors of Sales and sales teams throughout Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, and Washington to implement sales strategies that increase market share, revenue, and profitability.

This role provides leadership, coaching, and sales support to assigned hotels while ensuring property sales activities align with overall business strategies, budget expectations, and market goals. The Regional Director of Sales will work closely with property leadership and above-property teams to identify opportunities, develop action plans, strengthen sales performance, and drive results across the region.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and sales training to assigned hotels to improve sales performance and productivity.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of competitor hotels, market conditions, business mix, pricing trends, and local demand within each assigned market.
  • Conduct regular property visits to evaluate sales performance, identify opportunities, and develop action plans with property sales leaders.
  • Ensure each assigned hotel maintains current quarterly sales action plans and follows through on established goals and initiatives.
  • Actively participate in the sales process, including prospecting, account development, sales calls, site tours, sales blitzes, and other revenue-generating activities.
  • Provide ongoing feedback, guidance, and coaching to Sales Directors and property sales teams.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local CVB leaders, key business partners, and top accounts within each assigned market.
  • Build relationships with brand representatives and participate in applicable brand training, programs, and sales initiatives.
  • Assist hotels with developing sales plans, target accounts, and strategies designed to increase market share and overall profitability.
  • Review weekly sales and performance reports and provide recommendations and follow-up to property sales leaders.
  • Maintain awareness of each hotel's sales pipeline and funnel to ensure consistent prospecting and account development.
  • Ensure sales collateral and marketing materials accurately represent the appropriate image, positioning, and tone of each property.
  • Ensure assigned hotels follow THM Standard Operating Procedures related to sales and revenue management processes.
  • Partner with the Vice President of Sales & Marketing and other above-property leaders on regional initiatives and special projects.
  • Travel regularly to assigned properties and markets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

  • 4+ years of progressive hotel sales experience preferred.
  • Previous Regional or Area Director of Sales experience preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent hospitality sales experience will be considered.
  • Experience with select-service and extended-stay hotels preferred.
  • Experience with Marriott, Hilton, and IHG sales tools, systems, and programs preferred.
  • Strong understanding of hotel sales, revenue strategies, market segmentation, and business development.
  • Strong prospecting, networking, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop sales leaders.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple properties, priorities, and markets effectively.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working independently.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned region.
  • Open availability as business needs require.
