For our Client, a leading international engineering contractor, we are recruiting for the position of:

Regional EHS Manager

Location: Sweden
Sector: Data Centres / Mission-Critical Construction
Work model: Site-based, with regional travel

Your responsibilities

As Regional EHS Manager, you will lead Environmental, Health and Safety performance across multiple projects in Sweden.

You will support project leadership and EHS teams, ensure consistent implementation of the company’s EHS Management System and promote a strong, proactive safety culture throughout the region.

Your responsibilities will include:

• leading and supporting EHS teams across multiple projects;
• monitoring regional EHS performance, KPIs, audits, incidents and compliance;
• ensuring consistent implementation of EHS standards and procedures;
• conducting regional audits, inspections and compliance reviews;
• leading serious incident investigations;
• overseeing corrective and preventative actions;
• identifying EHS risks and supporting continuous improvement;
• advising operational leaders, project teams, clients and contractors;
• ensuring compliance with applicable health, safety and environmental legislation;
• developing and delivering EHS initiatives, training and safety-improvement programmes;
• supporting tender submissions, client presentations and prequalification processes;
• preparing accurate EHS reports and management information;
• liaising with clients, regulatory authorities and other key stakeholders;
• coaching project teams and promoting safety leadership at every organisational level.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who have:

• a degree or Level 8 equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management or a related discipline;
• at least 10 years of EHS experience within construction, engineering, electrical, mechanical or related industries;
• previous experience in a senior EHS leadership position;
• experience managing EHS performance across multiple projects or locations;
• strong knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001;
• knowledge of relevant construction regulations and CDM requirements;
• experience managing EHS systems, audits and incident investigations;
• the ability to lead, influence and coach teams at all levels;
• excellent communication, stakeholder-management and report-writing skills;
• good command of English;
• legal eligibility to work in Sweden;
• willingness to travel regularly between projects across Sweden.

Professional membership of IOSH or an equivalent safety organisation will be an advantage.

Previous experience supporting Data Centre, mission-critical, pharmaceutical or other technically complex construction projects will be highly desirable.
