What You Will Achieve
Regional Strategy & Business Planning
- Define the strategic roadmap for the Central region, translating corporate priorities into a multi-year regional growth and operating plan.
- Analyze market, competitive, and performance data to identify opportunities for expansion, operating model improvements, and format innovation across the region.
- Set regional priorities and resource allocation, ensuring District and Area Managers are focused on the initiatives with the greatest strategic impact.
- Present the region's strategy, performance narrative, and forward-looking plans to executive leadership.
Executive & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Serve as the region's executive-level point of contact for HR, L&D, Operations, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Real Estate, Construction, and IT, shaping and prioritizing pilots, program rollouts, and special projects before they reach the field.
- Bring field and market insight into corporate planning discussions, influencing cross-functional roadmaps and program design.
- Represent the region in leadership forums, providing strategic recommendations on program effectiveness, scalability, and return on investment.
- Ensure alignment between corporate strategy and regional execution, escalating risks or trade-offs to the appropriate stakeholders.
Talent Strategy & Leadership Development
- Own the region's leadership pipeline strategy, identifying and developing multi-unit leaders for future senior roles.
- Set the standard for people leadership across the region, delegating day-to-day performance management to District and Area Managers while retaining accountability for outcomes.
- Lead succession planning and long-term workforce strategy for all multi-unit leadership roles in the region.
- Coach District and Area Managers on leadership judgment and decision-making, not just task execution.
Financial Strategy & Performance Oversight
- Own the regional P&L strategy, setting budget priorities and profitability targets in partnership with Finance.
- Analyze regional financial and operational trends, translating insights into strategic action plans rather than transactional fixes.
- Guide District and Area Managers on financial strategy and unit economics, holding them accountable for execution and results.
Field Presence & Strategic Visibility
- Maintain a strong field presence (approximately 80% travel) to pressure-test strategy, build trust, and stay grounded in market reality.
- Use market visits primarily to gather insight that shapes regional and corporate strategy — not to manage daily store operations directly.
What You Will Need
Experience & Leadership
- 10+ years of progressive multi-unit retail leadership experience, including 5+ years operating at a strategic, multi-region, or P&L ownership level.
- Demonstrated experience translating corporate strategy into regional plans and holding multi-unit leaders accountable for execution.
- Track record of influencing executive stakeholders and driving alignment across cross-functional partners.
- Experience building and scaling leadership pipelines across multiple markets.

- Strong strategic thinking and business planning skills, with the ability to balance long-term vision against field realities.
- Financial acumen, including budget ownership, P&L analysis, and the ability to translate data into strategic decisions.
- Executive-level written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

- Strong cross-functional influence and stakeholder management.

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to travel extensively (approximately 80%), including frequent air travel and multi-day market visits outside of the home market.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move through retail environments for extended periods during store and market visits.
- Must be able to occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
