Summary

An L2 Regional Network Engineer supporting a global financial institution's APAC infrastructure team in Singapore, handling 90% BAU operations for trading floors and offices. Day-to-day involves troubleshooting e-trading latency with packet capture, and maintaining Cisco routing/switching, Fortinet firewalls, and F5 load balancers.

We are partnering with a global financial institution to hire a Regional Network Engineer to join their APAC infrastructure team. If you are tired of high-burnout environments, heavy shift work, and constant firefighting, this is the role for you.

This position offers genuine work-life balance within a highly stable environment. Operating within an agile framework, you will focus on 90% Business-As-Usual (BAU) operations, supporting trading floors and corporate offices across the APAC region.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the primary L2 escalation point for regional network operations, bridging the gap between the 24/7 L1 monitoring NOC and the L3 global architecture team.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve critical e-trading latency issues, utilizing packet capture tools to identify network, routing, or VPN bottlenecks.
  • Maintain and support the core regional infrastructure, focusing on routing, switching, firewalls, and load balancing.
  • Participate in a low-volume, 1-in-4 weekly on-call standby rotation (historically averaging only 1-2 minor escalations per week).
  • Assist the Product Owner with skeletal network design and deployment planning during rare regional office relocations or expansions.

The Tech Stack & Requirements

  • Core Infrastructure: Deep hands-on experience with Cisco routing/switching, Fortinet firewalls, and F5 load balancers. Exposure to Radware and Bluecoat is highly advantageous.
  • Protocols & Troubleshooting: Strong grasp of BGP and EIGRP. You must be highly proficient with Wireshark to analyze packet captures and trace latency issues.
  • Experience: Proven background in a solid L2 Network Support or Network Operations role. Experience within financial services, brokerages, or trading environments is a strong plus due to the focus on latency.
  • Certifications: CCNP is preferred, but proven, verifiable hands-on experience will take precedence. (Note: All educational and professional certifications will be subject to rigorous background verification).
