Regional Project Manager Lead

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Regional Project Manager Lead based in India.

This is a senior project leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence across a regional project management function.
You’ll lead, mentor, and develop project managers while ensuring high standards of delivery, governance, and client service.
The role combines people leadership, project oversight, resource planning, financial management, and process improvement.
You’ll work across regional and global teams to ensure projects are delivered on brief, on time, within scope, and within budget.
You’ll also help shape project management best practices, strengthen operational processes, and identify opportunities for AI and automation.
With significant client and stakeholder interaction, you’ll act as a trusted escalation point and advocate for successful delivery.

• Lead, mentor, and guide the regional Project Management team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and project excellence.
• Own the overall quality and successful delivery of projects, ensuring teams consistently deliver against agreed briefs, timelines, scopes, and budgets.
• Establish and reinforce project management best practices, ensuring compliance with global processes, workflows, documentation standards, and ways of working.
• Support Project Managers with project scoping, planning, specifications, risk management, and delivery challenges.
• Monitor project progress, utilization, burn rates, overburn, profitability, and compliance, taking corrective action where required.
• Govern the setup, execution, monitoring, and control of projects, ensuring project information and documentation remain accurate and up to date.
• Provide training, onboarding, mentorship, and upskilling to Project Managers, including support for global project management standards and practices.
• Oversee project deliverable quality assurance and quality control to ensure work meets agreed standards and client expectations.
• Lead initiatives that improve project management processes through AI, automation, workflow optimization, and operational innovation.
• Work with global and regional project management leadership to define, deploy, and govern processes and operational improvements.
• Partner with resource managers to allocate briefs effectively, optimize utilization, identify appropriate skill sets, and support freelancer requirements.
• Encourage collaboration across global project teams rather than limiting delivery to regional resources.
• Lead weekly WIP reviews with Project Managers and Finance to maintain accurate project and financial data.
• Oversee project health and profitability, including monitoring overburn and approving purchase orders, cost estimates, and credit notes within authorized thresholds.
• Support financial governance through supplier purchase orders, invoice tracking, freelance costs, and project closure processes.
• Participate in recruitment by reviewing candidates and interviewing Project Managers, Traffic Managers, and Producers.
• Act as a senior escalation point for clients, building strong relationships and providing guidance on briefing, delivery, and best practices.
• Manage direct reports through regular one-to-ones, performance and development conversations, coaching, feedback, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Lead projects directly when required, ensuring briefs, budgets, scopes, timelines, purchase orders, and client expectations are clearly established before work begins.
• Manage scope and scope creep while ensuring project teams and clients remain aligned throughout delivery.
• Escalate projects at risk and work proactively with teams and clients to resolve issues and protect successful outcomes.
• Oversee final client presentations, ensuring deliverables answer the brief, meet quality standards, and are presented effectively.

Requirements

• Significant experience in project or program management, ideally within an advertising, marketing, communications, creative, production, or agency environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading and managing Project Managers or broader creative and production teams.
• Strong client engagement and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and proactively influence clients.
• Proven ability to manage complex workflows, prioritize competing demands, and organize multiple projects to maximize productivity and delivery quality.
• Strong understanding of project governance, operational processes, financial tracking, invoicing, and project profitability.
• Excellent knowledge of project management methodologies, processes, reporting, risk management, and delivery controls.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail and a high level of personal accountability.
• Ability to work effectively across regional and global teams and coordinate stakeholders across different functions and markets.
• Strong communication skills, with the confidence to engage with senior clients, internal leadership, and cross-functional teams.
• Creative and commercially minded, with the ability to contribute ideas while maintaining a strong focus on delivery and business outcomes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant project management, workflow, reporting, and business software.
• Ability to integrate effectively with client-side teams while maintaining a high-quality agency service.
• Experience training, mentoring, or upskilling project management professionals is highly valuable.
• Genuine interest in AI and emerging technologies, with curiosity about how GenAI, automation, and AI-enabled workflows can improve project management and operational efficiency.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly scaling environment where priorities can evolve and proactive problem-solving is essential.
