Job Summary
Miller Electric Company has an immediate need for a Regional Safety Manager in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate would have previous experience working with an electrical contractor on a data center construction project. Compensation Range: $50.00/hr to $60.00/hr The Regional Safety Manager reports to the Senior Safety Manager. Responsibilities are focused on maintaining the safest possible workplace and OSHA Compliance. The Regional Safety Manager will be hands-on and interact with our field personnel and management team daily.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, standards, policies, and/or procedures.
- Provides technical expertise to managers and supervisors in establishing techniques and procedures for the elimination or control of unsafe behaviors, environments, and hazards.
- Plans and conducts periodic and unscheduled surveys and inspections of Miller Electric Company projects.
- Conduct hazard analyses of project operations
- Assist in the update and maintenance of the company safety manual
- Develop and conduct risk assessments and Job Task Analyses for relevant tasks
- Coordinates with operating activities to provide safety training and ensures safety awareness throughout Miller Electric Company.
- Work with personnel to assure safe placement and job assignment
- Assist in the maintenance of accident record keeping
- Provide technical assistance with the investigation of accidents, incidents, injuries, and/or illnesses.
- Foster a team environment when advising on needed corrections
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
REQUIRED
- BCSP credential (CHST or STS-C)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience overseeing electrical contractor scope of work. (This experience must include working either healthcare or data center electrical construction projects.)
- OSHA 30-hour certification within the past 3 years
- Understanding of Workers’ Compensation
- Strong technical writing ability
- A strong supporter of collaboration in an effort to gather the best solutions
- Ability to address and train groups of 25-30
- Ability to adapt to a changing work environment
- Ability to act independently with minimal daily direction
- Ability to work closely with all levels of Miller Electric Company
- High energy and self-motivated
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position.
- Bi-Lingual (English and Spanish)
- Certified OSHA Outreach Trainer for the Construction Industry
- Proficient in Microsoft 365
