Regional Safety & Training Coordinator: Coach Safety, Build Trust

Austin, TX (Regional Travel Role) | Full-Time | 85% Travel with Overnight Stays

Some safety programs run on fear. Ours runs on trust. If you'd rather earn a crew's respect than hand out write-ups, keep reading.

Freedom Power was born when Freedom Solar and Freedom HVAC joined forces to become Texas and Florida's complete whole-house energy company. We don't just install equipment. We hand homeowners the keys to something bigger: control over their energy, their bills, and their future. We call it Energy Empowerment, and it's not a tagline — it's the reason we show up every day.

As our Regional Safety & Training Coordinator, you're the road warrior who keeps every office, every jobsite, and every crew running safely — from residential rooftops to commercial installs. You'll set the standard by showing up, not by cracking down: leading JSAs and safety meetings, coaching crews through real conversations, and making sure the right equipment, training, and habits are in place before something goes wrong, not after.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Set the standard and lead by example — a trusted partner on-site, not an enforcer.
  • Serve as the safety and training subject matter expert for operational leadership.
  • Develop and maintain safety policies and programs that keep us compliant with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Build and run safety training, including OSHA-mandated courses, and manage employee compliance.
  • Lead and coach proper technique for Job Safety Analysis (JSA), crew meetings, weekly safety meetings, and safety stand-downs.
  • Conduct job site observations and turn what you find into real, lasting changes.
  • Coach and mentor through tough conversations when safety issues need to be corrected.
  • Help build high-risk task Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) documents.
  • Lead near-miss and incident investigations — data, interviews, findings, and follow-through.
  • Provide emergency care evaluation and first aid when needed and manage return-to-work and restricted-duty cases.
  • Own the safety equipment program — evaluation, recommendations, inventory, and issuance.
  • Keep operational and safety leaders in the loop with daily communication.
  • Lead fleet and driver safety efforts to reduce collisions and strengthen driver training.

What You Bring

  • 2–5 years of field safety experience — solar, electrical, or roofing background preferred
  • Hands-on trade experience in electrical, roofing, solar, or HVAC is highly valued

  • NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace) training certificate

  • Willingness to travel 85% of the time, including overnight stays
  • Expert knowledge of residential roofing, fall protection, ladder safety, and electrical safety
  • Familiarity with aerial work platforms (boom/scissor lifts) and rigging
  • Experience teaching First Aid/CPR, Defensive Driving, Fall Protection, or similar courses
  • Comfortable with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)

The Physical Side

  • 401(k) Employer Matching
  • Weekly Pay Dates
  • 3 Weeks PTO + 3 Sick Days
  • 12 Paid Holidays + 1 Floating Holiday
