Step into a pivotal role as the Registered Manager for the Residential Support Team at City and County of Swansea. Your primary focus is to create and maintain a nurturing, secure environment for our residents, prioritizing their safety and well-being. Collaborate closely with the Responsible Individual to ensure legal compliance and uphold the highest standards of care.
This role is about leadership, management, and making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
The salary for the position is Grade 10 £47,665 - £51,928 per annum. This is a full time temporary post until 31/03/2028.
- Set the operational direction and manage the daily operations of the Residential Care Service(s), ensuring alignment with the Statement of Purpose.
- Collaborate with the Responsible Individual to maintain compliance with all legal requirements and best practices in child care.
- Oversee the implementation of up-to-date assessments and Personal Plans for each child and young person, ensuring their active involvement in their care.
- Lead and mentor a dedicated staff team, providing training and support to meet safeguarding standards and promote a child-centric culture.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, advocating for the best interests of our residents and seeking collaborative solutions.
- Conduct regular reviews and assessments to identify areas for improvement, implementing changes to enhance the quality of care.
- Represent the service at industry events, sharing best practices, and networking with professionals to stay updated on industry trends.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation, adhering to data protection laws and maintaining confidentiality.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Registered with Social Care Wales (SCW) and possess relevant qualifications as outlined by the SCW framework.
- Hold a combination of City and Guilds Level 4 and 5 in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care, or a degree in Social Work with a relevant management qualification.
- Have completed or committed to completing the necessary qualifications within 3 years of appointment, as per SCW requirements.
- Possess advanced safeguarding training suitable for a frontline service manager, ensuring a deep understanding of child protection practices.
- Demonstrate proven leadership and management skills, with a successful track record in a similar role, preferably in child and family services.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to connect and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using relevant software for record-keeping, documentation, and data management, ensuring efficient and secure practices.
- Hold a valid driving license and have access to a vehicle for work-related travel, enabling effective service management and outreach.
- A strong commitment to continuous professional development, staying updated on industry trends and best practices in child care.
