- Deliver personalized, evidence-based lactation care to help mothers and infants meet their individual feeding goals from birth through discharge.
- Empower patients and families by demonstrating proper techniques and educating them on the lifelong health benefits of breastfeeding.
- Serve as the clinical lactation expert and mentor for staff nurses and physicians to elevate the overall standard of infant care across the unit.
- Design standardized patient teaching plans that ensure consistent, high-quality educational resources for every growing family.
- Drive clinical improvement initiatives by tracking feeding outcomes and refining care protocols based on real-time data.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Maryland Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job
- transfer date required.
- BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program preferred.
- Certification specializing in Lactation credentialed from the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) preferred.
- Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
Education:
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire
