The Nurse Program Manager (PM) RN Supervisor provides leadership and innovative oversight for all aspects of a facility-wide program. They manage planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the program and its staff, ensuring compliance with national directives. The role includes overseeing staff education, orientation, competencies, and quality improvement activities.
The PM is responsible and accountable for all aspects of the nursing process in delivering and supervising patient care. The PM ensures coordinated care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction across the continuum of care. The PM adheres to established policies and guidelines and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to influence positive care outcomes. The PM demonstrates knowledge and active participation in unit or program quality improvement initiatives and customer service efforts. Duties include but not limited to the following: Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others. Evaluates practice in an ongoing process, based on best evidence. Provides peers with informal constructive feedback for improvement. Fosters a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of healthcare professionals. Contributes professional nursing perspective in discussions with the interdisciplinary team. Partners with others to effect change and produce optimal outcomes. Shares educational findings, experiences, and ideas with peers. Questions clinical practices for the purpose of providing evidence-based care. Participates in activities and strategies to sustain an evidence-based-practice culture. The PM Supervisor continuously evaluates the program, collecting and submitting facility performance measures. Participates in quality improvement activities for nursing and develops performance measures to ensure programmatic outcomes are successful. Ensures the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are understood by the team and integrated into the progam's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and products, and services. Communicates and evaluates assignments, projects, problems to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and timeframes for completion. Demonstrates proficiency in leadership based on sound judgment, critical thinking, and deliberate planning. Leads discussions with facility leaders regarding program goals and requirements to meet the operational needs of the facility and program. Provides strategic advice and recommendations, while collectively collaborating with the program staff to develop solutions to complex issues and reporting actions to leadership.
