Registered Nurse - Yucca Valley & Victorville Area

JOB SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse supervises, and monitors nursing activities performed by all nursing personnel and cooperates and interacts with other departments and nursing units in the facility. This position is responsible for the medication administration, review and approval of all nursing assessments and nursing documentation. Spilt time at dual locations - (1) facility in Yucca Valley and (1) facility in VictorvilleMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducationGraduation from an accredited school of registered nursing, required.Bachelor’s degree, preferred.ExperienceOne (1) year experience with SED clients or 40 hours on the job training.One (1) year supervisory experience preferred.License or CertificationValid California RN license.Ability to pass facility Medication Test within 30 days of employment.Current CPR certification.First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.Specialized SkillsAbility to interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with seriously emotionally disturbed clients, family’s other staff, physicians and the public.Demonstrated team leadership skills.Knowledge of medication administration, especially psychotropic meds and medical treatment.Physical RequirementsAbility to visually and audibly assess client’s behavior and needs.Ability to stand for long periods of time preparing and administering medications.
