Registered Veterinarian Technician

Job Summary

The Registered Veterinarian Technician will assist the veterinarian in providing medical care to animals in a veterinary clinic. The technician will perform various tasks such as administering medication, taking x-rays, collecting samples, and assisting in surgeries. The technician will also communicate with pet owners and maintain medical records.

Responsibilities

• Assist the veterinarian in providing medical care to animals
• Administer medication and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
• Take x-rays and collect samples for testing
• Assist in surgeries and monitor anesthesia
• Communicate with pet owners regarding their pet's health and treatment plan
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Clean and maintain equipment and work areas
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the veterinarian

Requirements

• Registered Veterinary Technician certification
• Experience working in a veterinary clinic
• Knowledge of animal behavior and medical terminology
• Ability to handle and restrain animals
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed
