What we’re looking for

The Registrar is responsible for collecting patient demographic and insurance information for outpatient services. This role ensures a smooth and efficient registration process while collecting co-pays and deductibles at the point of service. The Registrar plays a key role in creating a positive first impression of the hospital for patients and visitors.

How you’ll contribute

  • Collect and accurately enter patient demographic, billing, and clinical information in a timely manner
  • Distribute and explain forms, documents, and educational materials to patients or family members
  • Meet with patients or caregivers to gather required information and explain registration processes
  • Address patient questions and concerns with professionalism and clarity
  • Communicate with physician offices, nursing staff, and other personnel to coordinate admissions and patient placement
  • Verify insurance benefits and obtain required precertification/authorization
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and other required payments or refer patients to financial counselors when appropriate
  • Ensure a positive, efficient, and patient-focused registration experience

Education

High School Diploma or GED Preferred; Associate degree preferred.

Certifications

  • Handle with Care certification required within 30 days of orientation and maintained annually
