What we’re looking for

The Registrar collects patient demographic and insurance information for outpatient services. Collects insurance, co-pay, and deductibles at Point of Service. Quickly and efficiently expedites the registration process. Provides a positive first impression of the hospital to the public.

How you’ll contribute

  • Ensures all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered accurately and timely into the registration system
  • Distributes and explains forms, documents, and educational materials to patients or family members
  • Meets with patients or caregivers before or after admission to exchange information, explain processes, and address questions or concerns
  • Communicates with admitting physician's office, nursing unit staff, and/or other appropriate personnel regarding admission to exchange necessary information and determine placement.
  • Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization as necessary.
  • Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow up.

Education

High School Diploma or GED Preferred; Associate degree preferred.

Certifications

  • Handle with Care certification required within 30 days of orientation and maintained annually

Schedule: Full Time / Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
