Regular Day Fitter
Summary
Shop-floor fitter role fitting and assembling metal components for heat exchangers, vessels, and towers using blueprints and thermal cutting tools (oxyfuel/plas-arc), with tack welding duties and strict <5% fit-up rejection rate target.
Fitters are required to be safety minded, highly productive experts who can cut, fit, and tack weld all parts of heat exchangers, vessels, and towers.
- Wear proper PPE at all times on shop floor and follow all safety protocols and procedures
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure specifications and dimensions are met
- Fit and assemble metal components of shell & tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels and/or towers
- Perform thermal cutting using an oxyfuel cutting torch and/or a Plas-Arc machine
- Perform tack welding
- Maintain less than a 5% fit up rejection rate
- Complete assigned work within given time frame and according to specifications
- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned, which may include performing basic tasks when such a need arises
