Summary

Develops core components of a liquidity-risk platform for a U.S. bank using Java 17+, SQL, Docker/Kubernetes, and event-driven architecture.

Overview

We are working on building Liquidity Risk platform for one of US banks. Our team is growing and we have a need in additional developer that will help in building Core part of platform. Our platform helps the bank to increase efficiency and scalability, reduce operational risk and eliminate the majority of manual interventions in processing margin calls.

Responsibilities

The candidate will work on development of new functionality for Liquidity Risk platform closely with other teams over the globe.

Compensation

90000 - 115000 CAD Gross Per Year

Mandatory Skills

  • Java 17+ (4 years+), UNIX Shell;
  • Gradle;
  • SQL (advanced querying, optimization, stored procedures);
  • Relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server);
  • Data warehousing concepts (Star/Snowflake schema);
  • Docker and Kubernetes containerization;
  • Understand difference between OOP (SOLID principles) and Functional design approach, understand what is event driven architecture;
  • Understand transactions level isolation in RDBMS and MapReduce pattern in BigData.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Apache Hadoop, Spark, Hive ecosystems;
  • Apache Kafka for data streaming;
  • Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration;
  • Parquet, Avro, or other columnar data formats;
  • CI instruments: TeamCiti/Jenkins, uDeploy
  • Experience with complex deployment infrastructures
  • Knowledge in software architecture, design and testing
