Rehab Tech
Summary
Performs daily cleaning, linen handling, and infection-control tasks in a healthcare facility under supervision.
The Rehab Tech – Aide assists in the maintenance of a safe, clean environment working under the direction of Practice Manger. Responsible for providing the highest quality of housekeeping services to the practice. Strives to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for the patients, visitors and staff by utilizing available resources and basic housekeeping skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Others may be assigned.
- Under the direction of Management is responsible for completing general cleaning duties including linen delivery and removal, trash removal, furniture moving and deep cleaning.
- Ensures that all tasks are completed safely, and in strict adherence to Infection Control.
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required per policy.
- Ensures all trash is removed and properly placed in the appropriate containers throughout shift and prior to end of shift.
- Contributes to a safe, clean, and uncontaminated environment by ensuring work areas are kept clean, sanitized, and orderly.
- Knowledge and understanding of all products/chemicals to be used on a daily basis for areas assigned.
- Responsible for reporting inventory levels when running low and any issues with equipment to Management team.
- Participates in all infection control, departmental training, organizational safety and fire safety programs.
- Provides the highest level of customer service at all times.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or Equivalent;
- Maintenance and/or cleaning experience preferred
- Six months in healthcare setting preferred
- Attention to detail – meticulous
- Willingness to be flexible and adaptable in a complex, matrix environment
- Team player - possess a great attitude
- Safety minded
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to be physically dexterous as there is light lifting, bending and stooping involved.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, with shift lengths of up to 9.5 hours.
