The Rehabilitation District Supervisor will have the responsibilities of supervising Rehabilitation Counselors and Rehabilitation Counselor Associates, who serve active vocational rehabilitation caseloads of individuals with severe disabilities throughout the region. These disabilities include psychiatric, substance abuse, intellectual and developmental disabilities, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and other severe physical or mental conditions.
The Office of Workforce Development (OWD) is a key division of the Louisiana Works; managing programs in workforce training, job placement, apprenticeships, and business engagement. Through collaboration with local boards, educational institutions, and industry partners, OWD aims to improve economic mobility for job seekers and ensure Louisiana employers have the skilled talent they need, contributing to the state’s economic growth.

Minimum Qualifications
- Two years of experience in rehabilitation counseling plus one of the following:
A bachelor’s degree plus one year of experience in rehabilitation services, social services, therapy services, human resources, education, or nursing; OR
A bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation counseling; OR
A master’s degree. Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
- Monitors and reviews vocational rehabilitation casework of subordinate employees to assure appropriate services are provided to clients in compliance with agency policy, agency procedure, state law and regulations, and federal law and regulations.
- Serves as an assistant to the Regional Manager to handle various duties in conjunction with the operations of the region, to include special projects, attending meetings, monitoring timelines, and the completion of Fair Hearing and Administrative Review reports.
- Provides ongoing training to assigned staff to include Initial training of new staff on agency policies and procedures, orientation training of counselor skills, and provides training to veteran counselors regarding changes in policies and procedures.
- Conducts regular staff meetings.
- Maintains database-tracking system of employee safety training participation, Defensive Driving course requirements, and emergency evacuation training requirements.
- Serves as vendor liaison, coordinating annual trainings and review of vendor performance. Works with the State Office to update the medical fee schedule for the regional area.
- Attends, as required, training for professional development in the areas of personnel performance appraisal, supervision, medical/psychological aspects of disabilities, rehabilitation programs, technology, and job development & placement.
- Other duties as assigned and travel to be conducted as needed.
