Role Overview


The role holder is responsible for developing large to medium customer relationships, providing solutions based on thorough analysis of customer needs. The role holder is expected to bring more potential relationships and mobilize efforts for cross sell and strengthen relationship with new/existing customers in an efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regularly review the market to identify opportunities in allocated segments and develop proposals for approval

  • Prepare and gain approval for proposals that will meet the policies and customer needs

  • Take personal responsibility for the establishment and maintenance of key relationships to leverage business achievement

  • Provide professional and expert advice on products and services to customers and business leads to other units to ensure that business opportunities are realized

  • Credit risk quality and portfolio health across assigned client base

  • Revenue growth and client retention through strategic relationship management

Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance and Banking or a related major field of study

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Corporate customer relationship management or institutional banking, with exposure to credit analysis, KYC/AML, and banking platforms such as Finacle or Temenos.

  • A good understanding of the market & market trends, competitive environment and the local regulatory environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain quality & relationships

1. Revenue growth and client retention through strategic relationship management
  • Develop and execute account plans that align client needs with the bank's product suite, ensuring sustainable revenue streams.
  • Identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities by analysing client portfolios and market trends, translating insights into actionable proposals.
  • Maintain regular dialogue with key decision-makers in client organisations to anticipate business changes and pre-empt attrition risks.
  • Collaborate with product, credit, and operations teams to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions tailored to complex corporate requirements.
Performance Measures:
  • Growth in wallet share and product penetration across managed client portfolio
  • Retention rate of priority corporate clients relative to unit benchmarks
  • Quality of client feedback on relationship value and advisory support

2. Credit risk quality and portfolio health across assigned client base
  • Evaluate and structure credit proposals, ensuring alignment with the bank's risk appetite and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor portfolio exposures for early warning signals, escalating emerging risks to credit and risk management functions as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular credit reviews and covenant monitoring to maintain portfolio integrity and minimise non-performing assets.
  • Champion prudent risk-taking by embedding credit discipline and fostering a culture of robust due diligence within the team.
Performance Measures:
  • Incidence of credit exceptions and overdue reviews within managed portfolio
  • Timeliness and accuracy of risk escalation and reporting
  • Portfolio quality metrics, including NPA levels and risk-adjusted returns

3. Client onboarding and KYC/AML compliance for new and existing relationships
  • Oversee end-to-end onboarding processes, ensuring all documentation and due diligence meet regulatory and internal standards.
  • Guide clients through KYC and AML requirements, clarifying complex regulatory obligations and supporting timely completion.
  • Coordinate with compliance and operations teams to resolve documentation gaps and mitigate onboarding delays.
  • Continuously update client records in core banking systems to reflect changes in ownership, structure, or risk profile.
Performance Measures:
  • Absence of onboarding-related regulatory breaches or audit findings
  • Cycle time from client initiation to account activation
  • Stakeholder feedback on onboarding process efficiency and compliance support

4. Operational excellence and service delivery across the client lifecycle
  • Act as escalation point for complex client service issues, ensuring swift resolution and minimal business disruption.
  • Review and refine internal processes in collaboration with support teams to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor transaction flows and service requests to identify process bottlenecks, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to junior team members, ensuring adherence to service standards and regulatory protocols.
Performance Measures:
  • Resolution rate and timeliness of escalated client service issues
  • Reduction in operational errors or process lapses impacting clients
  • Internal and external satisfaction scores for service delivery


  • Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Preferred: Professional certification in Corporate Banking (e.g., CB, ACIB, or equivalent)
  • Ongoing CPD in regulatory compliance, risk management, or digital banking
