Release/DevOps Engineer

David Kennedy Recruitment is working with an established company in Cyprus to recruit a Release/DevOps Engineer for its IT - DevOps team in Limassol. The role focuses on configuration, environment, change and release management, with responsibility for automation, deployment stability and production reliability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Automate provisioning, configuration, installation and monitoring across environments

  • Ensure consistent software versions and configuration standards

  • Configure new servers according to agreed standards

  • Implement automation for configuration changes

  • Manage and maintain all environments

  • Troubleshoot environment issues and ensure stability and availability

  • Automate consistent environment provisioning and changes in collaboration with other teams

  • Manage the change and release process and identify and introduce improvements

  • Facilitate CAB (Change Advisory Board) meetings

  • Identify risks and dependencies within the release cycle

  • Improve software release cycle times and remove blockers

  • Undertake release deployments and rollbacks during approved operational release windows

  • Participate in the weekend on-call rotation

  • Identify and escalate operational issues when required

  • Work closely with Development, Infrastructure and Network Security teams to ensure production and system reliability following release deployments.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a DevOps or SRE position

  • Hands-on experience with both Windows and Linux servers

  • Comfortable working with terminal and command-line environments

  • Experience configuring custom/in-house Windows services and IIS websites

  • Experience working with AWS

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation or Terraform

  • Experience with configuration management and provisioning using Ansible

  • Knowledge of Kubernetes/EKS

  • Experience with ArgoCD is an advantage

  • Scripting experience with Bash, PowerShell or Python

  • Experience with GitLab CI or similar

  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts including protocols, ports, firewall rules and subnetting

  • Good command of English, both verbal and written

  • Willingness to participate in weekend on-call rotation.
