Release Manager

Salary: £134,900 - 134,900 per year

Requirements:

• SC security clearance is required for this role.
• We are looking for an experienced Release Manager with strong release and configuration management experience.
• We require hands-on SAS and Oracle knowledge.
• Experience with SAS Enterprise Guide (EG).
• Experience with SAS Data Integration (DI).
• Experience with SAS Management Console.
• Experience with SAS Studio.
• Experience with SAS Viya 3.5 and Viya 4.
• Experience with SAS Visual Analytics and SAS Visual Investigator.
• Experience with Oracle.
• Experience in configuration and release management.
• Experience with the software testing lifecycle and defect management.
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Desirable: HMRC or public sector experience.
• Desirable: Experience with AWS, Azure, or SAS PaaS.
• Desirable: Experience with Airflow or SAS Migration Factory.

Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end release process across Development, Test and Production.
• Coordinate Development, Testing and Operations teams to deliver releases on time.
• Manage configuration standards, manifests and structured release artefacts.
• Package and deploy SAS DI code (SPKs) and Oracle artefacts.
• Support the SAS 9.4 to SAS Viya 4 migration using CI/CD practices.
• Lead release readiness reviews, go/no-go decisions and post-release retrospectives.
• Ensure full release traceability, governance and auditability.

We are recruiting a Release Manager for a major HMRC/Minerva programme supporting the delivery of critical Self-Assessment risk and compliance capabilities. This is a 6-month contract paying £515 per day inside IR35, based in Telford with a hybrid working model of two days per week on site.
