SUMMARY:

The Reliability/Project Engineer is responsible for the reliability and sustainability of new and existing equipment. Lead process and product improvement efforts as a technical resource to the operations team. Support manufacturing and maintenance through MDI process, continuous improvement initiatives and troubleshooting equipment issues. Project manager for expense and CAPX projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned.

This role is accountable to:

  • Analyzing equipment failure data to identify patterns and trends applying engineering principles to develop and implement countermeasures to prevent re-occurrence including develop/revise PM’s with proper granularity and cadence.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting of equipment issues providing technical direction to maintenance and contractors as required.
  • Devise PM strategies and spare parts lists as required.
  • Conducting root cause analysis to determine the underlying cause of problems on equipment in effort to maximize equipment uptime and throughput.
  • Effectively contribute to achieving departmental goals and KPI’s (Uptime, MTTR, PM compliance, etc.)
  • Designing and implementing new procedures for monitoring and testing equipment.
  • Manage a variety of capital and non-capital projects as the Project Manager or Project Lead
  • Manage a variety of capital and non-capital projects as the Project Manager or Project Lead. Utilizing fundamentals of project management, i.e. scope, specification, design review, budget and WBS/Schedule governed by change management. Knowledge of FEL process a plus.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations and status to team members and stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
  • Effectively contribute to achieving departmental goals and KPI’s (Uptime, MTTR, PM compliance, etc.)
  • Schedule contractors and manage day-to-day activities to complete projects on time
  • Implementing appropriate plans to improve profitability by maximizing efficiency to include waste, speed, delay, and raw material usage using Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Be directly involved with continuous improvement teams, which may include being facilitator of a team or group of teams.
  • Incorporate safety into all aspects of the department and ensure safe working conditions during all activities associated within the manufacturing environment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • 4-year degree, Electrical, Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering of Engineering Technology from ABET/EAC accredited University
  • Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in leading various types of projects major equipment outages and installation of new equipment and processes directing internal and or external resources.
  • Able to facilitate and complete root cause analysis (8-D, 5 why) and implement countermeasures to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Strong computer skills, AutoCAD, proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access. Must be detail oriented with strong communication and analytical skills.
  • 3-7+ years in Industrial Environment, Engineering & Maintenance Focus
  • Preferred Experience or comparable: Metal/Materials Manufacturing, Hydraulic Presses, Plating, Roll forming, Stamping, Furnace Annealing, Plating
