Reliability Systems Engineer (On-Site, Muscatine, IA)
Provides entry-level support for the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of reliability and manufacturing systems that support production, safety, quality, maintenance, and engineering operations. Apply engineering and systems-thinking principles to help translate operational needs into practical digital, data, and process solutions. Supports the safe, efficient, and compliant use of reliability tools, maintenance systems, reporting platforms, and related manufacturing technology while developing technical capability and business knowledge.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSBILITIES:
- Support reliability, maintenance, and manufacturing system initiatives from definition of need through implementation, testing, documentation, training, and ongoing support.
- Assist with documenting business processes, system requirements, data needs, and user workflows for reliability and operational technology solutions.
- Create and support routine reports, dashboards, ad hoc queries, and basic data analysis to help identify equipment performance trends, maintenance opportunities, and process improvement needs.
- Provide routine technical support and troubleshooting for reliability systems, maintenance applications, reporting tools, and related manufacturing technology under the guidance of more experienced personnel.
- Develop and lead lifecycle management activities for assigned systems, as well as support data quality review, user access coordination, documentation updates, testing support, and participation in upgrades.
- Participate in cross-functional teams with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, SSHEQ, IT, Purchasing, and external vendors to implement system improvements and support site objectives.
- Help ensure systems, tools, and documentation meet business requirements, internal controls, data integrity expectations, and applicable compliance standards.
- Assist with project planning, cost estimates, vendor coordination, appropriation request support, and timely status updates for small or routine system improvement efforts.
- Identify routine system or process issues, recommend practical corrective actions, and escalate complex problems to appropriate technical resources.
- Develop knowledge of site reliability processes, maintenance work management, manufacturing systems, Bayer standards, and applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Reliability Engineering, or a related technical field; OR Knowledge of BS/BA completed by August 2027.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Entry-level role intended for candidates with a bachelor’s degree and limited professional experience; internship, co-op, academic project, manufacturing, maintenance, reliability, or systems experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing, maintenance, reliability, data analysis, or operational technology concepts.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and interest or exposure to tools such as APM, SAP, maintenance management systems, Power BI, Power Apps, Tableau, SQL, SharePoint, data historians, workflow tools, or manufacturing execution systems.
- Ability to learn Bayer systems, standards, and work processes.
Eligible for Domestic Relocation

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $63,040.00 - $94,560.00per year. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
