The Relief Auto body Foreman is responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating the maintenance, repair and modification of Transit vehicles and equipment.

What will you do?

• Plan, prioritize and assign work of staff, provide direction, monitor performance, provide coaching, counseling, recommend corrective action for performance deficiencies, provide recognition and prepare and evaluate performance through file reviews
• Collaborate with Shop Controller and Maintenance Planner to execute work plans; ensure changing priorities are communicated
• Identify day to day and future staffing requirements
• Monitor attendance, promote health and safety in the workplace
• Write and/or complete reports such as absence/control, WCB, accident investigation, vehicle data, M5 Software, time cards and/or time sheets
• Maintain tool inventory and ensure the completion of other duties such as filing, photocopying and answering phones; enter and retrieve inspection data on computer
• Participate in or conduct monthly safety and staff meetings and work site inspection
• Ensure work adheres to safety codes, City policies and procedures and departmental guidelines
• Assist with training apprentices and junior Auto Body Technicians
• Perform inspections and complete required documentation
• Investigate bus accidents and complete repair estimates
• Ensure that legislated requirements for environmental protection are followed for jobs and tasks
• Participate in continued education and development for the position
• Perform other related duties as required
