About the Client
Our client is a lean, high-trust paid media agency that manages Google Ads across a portfolio of home improvement contractor accounts. They're hiring a Google Ads Specialist to build, launch, optimize, and QA campaigns with precision — turning founder-led strategy into flawless execution.
The team is small and founder-led: strategy is owned at the top, and execution quality is everything. At this spend level, every campaign build matters, and the work is treated with the rigor that high-stakes accounts demand. This is an execution role, not a strategy role.
About the Role
Day to day, the Google Ads Specialist owns full-cycle campaign execution — from initial build and QA through ongoing monitoring and optimization — across a portfolio of client accounts. The founder sets strategic direction; this hire translates it into cleanly built campaigns and surfaces what's working, and what isn't, before being asked.
Success means campaigns that launch error-free the first time, tracking that holds up under scrutiny, and reporting the founder can act on without double-checking the numbers.
Core Responsibilities
Campaign Set-Up & Implementation
- Build new Google Ads campaigns end-to-end, including targeting, geos, budgets, bids, ad copy, and extensions
- Implement and iterate ad copy variations (headlines, descriptions, extensions) for ongoing testing
- QA every campaign pre-launch, verifying geo targeting, URLs, tracking, budgets, and bid settings
- Implement and QA conversion tracking across Google Ads, GA4, and Google Tag Manager
- Maintain consistent naming conventions, ad group structure, and negative keyword lists across accounts
Campaign Optimization
- Monitor account performance on a daily and weekly cadence
- Run A/B tests on ad copy, creative, and targeting
- Analyze performance data to recommend bid, budget, and creative adjustments
- Flag spend pacing issues and performance anomalies proactively
Client Onboarding
- Set up new client accounts in Google Ads and GA4, including MCC linking and access permissions
- Complete client onboarding checklist items in coordination with the founder
- Conduct competitor and market research to define target audiences
- Build reporting dashboards in Looker Studio for new clients
Monitoring & Reporting
- Verify tags fire correctly and conversions attribute accurately across accounts
- Troubleshoot tracking gaps before they affect reporting
- Deliver clean weekly and monthly performance reports using Looker Studio
- Summarize trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities for stakeholders
