About the Role
Our Client is seeking an advanced, backend-focused Remote Senior Full-Stack Developer to join their core software development team. Reporting to engineering leadership, this developer will maintain and scale web applications using Python and Django, build REST APIs for third-party integrations, manage server-rendered Jinja2 templates, and handle front-end enhancements using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery. Utilizing Docker, AWS, MySQL, Celery, and Redis, the developer will participate in the full software development lifecycle, optimize system performance, and mentor junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Core Backend & Web Application Development

Architect, code, and maintain scalable web applications using the Django framework and Python.

Develop and maintain RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless integrations between internal tools and third-party systems.

Design and optimize MySQL database schemas, complex queries, and ORM abstractions.

Build asynchronous task workflows utilizing Celery, Redis, and message broker architectures.

Participate in the complete application lifecycle, including design, coding, code reviews, testing, automated deployment, and production support.
Front-End Engineering & Legacy Enhancements

Perform front-end enhancements on proprietary internal platforms using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.

Implement responsive, server-rendered user interface templates utilizing Jinja2 within Django application frameworks.

Collaborate with UI/UX leads and product managers to translate functional requirements into clean, maintainable UI components.
System Architecture, Optimization & Mentorship

Conduct deep performance profiling, query optimization, and architectural refinements to maintain high application speed and responsiveness.

Independently propose, evaluate, and implement complex technical solutions for enterprise software challenges.

Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and architectural guidance to junior and mid-level developers.

Provide rapid support and resolution for time-sensitive production issues.

Assist engineering management during technical interviews and hiring assessments for prospective software team members.
Qualifications, Skills, and Key Competencies

Django & Python Expertise: 7+ years of hands-on professional experience with Django and Python, demonstrating advanced- to expert-level framework mastery.

Full-Stack Web Architecture: Deep understanding of full-stack web architecture, server-rendered template engines (Jinja2), microservices, and web performance optimization.

Relational Database Design: Advanced proficiency in MySQL or PostgreSQL, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and ORM performance tuning.

API Development & Integration: Extensive experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs and webhook integrations.

Front-End & Test Automation: Proficient in non-SPA front-end development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery, paired with solid experience writing unit and integration tests.

DevOps & Version Control: Proficient with Git workflows and comfortable working inside containerized environments using Docker.

Fluent English Communication: Excellent written and spoken English communication skills to collaborate with US-based product managers, engineers, and stakeholders.

Schedule & Time Zone Alignment: Full availability for a 40-hour work week with at least 6 hours of daily overlap with US Pacific Time (PT) business hours (working until at least 2:00 PM PT).

Remote Workspace Infrastructure: High-performance development computer, HD webcam, noise-canceling headset, and enterprise-grade internet connection.

Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS, S3, RDS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Familiarity with legacy or complementary frameworks such as Flask or Zope.

Experience with API testing tools (Postman), telephony platforms (Five9), or workflow automation tools (Zapier).
