Remote Software Architect - AI-Driven Django Lead

Plentific is seeking a Software Architect to guide the technical direction of the platform. You will bridge product vision with engineering execution, shaping scalable microservices, data pipelines, and APIs.

The role blends hands-on coding with leadership across design, reviews, and delivery, including AI-assisted development practices. You’ll collaborate with product managers, drive architectural decisions, and mentor engineers to deliver high-quality software at scale in a hybrid work

Translate product requirements into technical analyses and actionable engineering plans with AI-assisted tools. Define and own the technical roadmap for the team and ensure scalability. Mentor engineers and oversee delivery lifecycle from design to deployment. Serve as primary technical contact to align engineering, product, and stakeholders. Design scalable microservices with Django/Python on Kubernetes at scale. Lead API, data pipelines, and distributed system design for performance and reliability. Enforce best practices for database design and query optimisation (PostgreSQL). Evaluate emerging technologies and patterns to guide architecture. Write clear technical documentation for code, APIs, and system architecture. Champion AI-assisted development across the full lifecycle. 8+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong focus on Python and Django. Proven hands-on experience building and operating Django-based microservices at scale, in production on Kubernetes. Demonstrable experience using AI tools to assist Software Development and architectural documentation. Experience in a Tech Lead or Software Architect capacity, owning technical direction and guiding teams to delivery. Strong track record producing technical analyses with Product Managers to assess requirements and solutions. Deep knowledge of distributed systems design, event-driven architectures, and inter-service communication patterns. Solid grasp of relational databases (PostgreSQL), including schema design and query optimisation. Experience with AWS and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins).
