Position: - Repair Technician (Laptops/Desktop/Cellphones)

Shift: - Monday to Friday 10:00 am to 6:30 pm

Department-GSC, Brampton

Position Summary

Repair Technician will be responsible for the diagnostics and repair of a variety of electronic products specifically Laptops and desktop at the service depot in a timely and cost-effective manner. Requirements include excellent knowledge of software & hardware troubleshooting, service operations, and the ability to work with all associated test equipment. Knowledge surrounding the reading of service manuals, various service packages, diagrams and navigating vendor websites is essential. The Repair Technician must have a high attention to detail and accuracy, possess good written and verbal communication skills, good organizational skills, is a self-starter and a team player.


Key Responsibilities

• Accurate and timely repairs/test/diagnosis that meet or exceed Industry Standards and regulation.
• Ensures accurate fault determination and achieves a high rate of first time completion.
• Obtains parts required for the repair in a timely manner from the parts group.
• Returns defective parts to the parts group immediately for return to the vendor.
• Completes and maintains all paperwork and documentation required thoroughly, accurately and in a timely manner for easy retrieval and reference.
• Accurately enters appropriate data into the computer system, as required.
• Exercises care in avoiding errors and rework, and pays attention to details.
• Maintains safe environment for associates and visitors. Keeps all work areas clean, neat and organized. Identifies security risks and takes appropriate corrective measures
• Required to perform light material handling duties (up to 50 lbs.)

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 6 months experience working in a service center or similar environment
• Minimum 1 years’ experience of testing/repairing of Laptops/Desktop
• Grade 12 or equivalent. A combination of relevant education, training and experience
• A+ certification required or equivalent experience
• Multi-brand training certificates and manufacturer authorization would be an asset
• Computer Applications: Windows Control software and internet browser, Microsoft Office
• Must be able to effectively communicate both in verbally and in writing
• Proven ability to work well under pressure; strong attention to detail; and enjoy repetitive tasks.

Base pay range

Hourly pay rate: $19.80 - $20.54

Pay may vary by province. Pay listed is for the location advertised.
