Research Abstract Analyst III- Central Abstractor Office

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Research Abstract Analyst III to join our Central Abstractor Office in Detroit, United States. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing, abstracting, and summarizing complex research data and medical records with precision and efficiency. You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and consistency of research documentation while maintaining compliance with established protocols and data standards. This position requires strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

• Analyze and abstract research data, medical records, and clinical documentation according to established guidelines and protocols
• Prepare comprehensive and accurate research abstracts that capture essential information while maintaining consistency in format and terminology
• Verify the completeness and accuracy of abstracted data, conducting quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with organizational standards
• Manage multiple abstraction projects concurrently while meeting established deadlines and performance metrics
• Maintain organized and systematic filing systems, both physical and digital, ensuring easy retrieval and tracking of abstracted materials
• Collaborate with research teams, clinicians, and other stakeholders to clarify information and resolve discrepancies in source documentation
• Input and manage data within database systems and electronic health records (EHR) platforms with precision
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and other applicable compliance requirements when handling sensitive research information
• Communicate findings and updates to supervisory staff and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives
• Support the overall operations of the Central Abstractor Office by assisting with administrative tasks and special projects as needed

• Proven experience in medical abstraction, research data analysis, or a related analytical role
• Strong proficiency in analyzing complex medical and research documentation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to summarize information clearly and concisely
• Advanced attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all work products
• Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
• Proficiency with database systems, electronic health records (EHR), and Microsoft Office Suite applications
• Solid understanding of medical terminology, healthcare coding systems, and research protocols
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements and data privacy regulations
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
