Purpose


CEEW seeks to hire a Research Analyst with good data analysis skills to join the Clean Air team. The role will further help CEEW’s Clean Air team raise the bar. The role primarily involves analysing sustainability reports of Indian companies to track their progress in improving their air emissions.

The candidate is expected to have good data analysis and presentation skills.

In addition to the duties and responsibilities below, the individual should be prepared, as and when necessary, to take on additional responsibilities.

Job duties and accountabilities

Primary Responsibilities

Research

Independently manage allocated workstreams on quantitative and quantitative applied research on air quality issues in India.

Identifying key research question(s), designing the research approach/framework, collection of data and data analyses using appropriate qualitative and/or quantitative, and presenting the analyses in a coherent narrative in different formats such as journal publications, reports, op-ed articles, and consultation meetings.

Regularly track policy measures taken by the government and their implementation status that concern air quality in India and globally.

Generate high-quality research reports, policy briefs and publications in leading peer-reviewed journals. Generate other knowledge products such as blogs, policy briefs, etc., at regular intervals.


Programme assistance

Support the senior researchers in conceptualising new projects, developing high-impact research proposals, stakeholder engagement events and applications for research and general donor funding.

Support effective outreach of research outputs through coordination with the outreach team, engagement with a broader network of stakeholders, and concerned policymakers.

Participate in relevant conferences, workshops, and training programmes for a comprehensive understanding of developments relevant to the air quality sector.


Selection Criteria

Qualification

Bachelors/Masters degree in Public Policy, Sustainable Finance, Environmental Engineering, and related fields.

Work experience

0-1 years of experience.


Key skills


Ability to work with either Excel or code in a programming language.

Ability to present the work in a lucid manner.

Creative thinker with demonstrated success in implementing out-of-the-box content ideas.

Demonstrated abilities to manage multiple priorities, projects and internal/external resources in a fast-paced environment, while meeting deadlines and quality standards.

Strong drive and initiative, a self-starter.


Desirable skills


Prior experience in analysing the environmental performance of companies.

An understanding of environmental disclosure frameworks.
