How You Will Add Value
Core Responsibilities
• Conduct research on Japanese companies’ financials, including cash flow and income statements.
• Compile data from multiple sources and build financial models.
• Perform independent research on Japanese public companies across sectors.
• Analyze financial statements and other investment information.
• Develop financial models and reports on assigned companies.
• Present investment recommendations and provide regular updates.
• Analyze economic, macroeconomic, and political developments in your coverage.
• Maintain awareness of global market and economic conditions.
• Support portfolio optimization with insights to the Lead PM
• Engage with clients, intermediaries, consultants, and internal teams.
• Follow investment policy guidelines and compliance standards.
What Will Help You Be Successful in This Role
Experience, Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred
At least 5 years of equity experience, preferably in the Japanese market.
Background in multi-sector research or investment preferred.
Portfolio management related exposure is a plus.
Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
Ability to synthesize macro and micro trends into investment ideas.
Effective communicator with ability to present complex ideas clearly.
Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
High attention to detail and compliance focus.
Proficiency in Japanese is a plus
