Summary

Coordinates clinical research studies across multiple hospital sites, ensuring compliance with protocols, recruiting participants, administering assessments, and managing study logistics.

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs or oversees complex scientific procedures in a clinical or research setting.

JOB DUTIES:

15% - Research Compliance and Reporting. The research coordinator is responsible for knowing all details of the research study, adhering to the protocol, and maintaining compliance to all aspects of the research study as outlined in the Manual of Procedures (MoP) and grant, including the budget. This role includes maintaining study logs, maintaining and ordering study supplies, performing study fidelity checks, and overall ensuring that all aspects of the study procedures are being performed and are in compliance with the MoP and grant details. Reporting duties include completing ethics, adverse events, Data Safety and Monitoring Board, and biannual federal sponsor reports.

15% - Site coordination. Responsibilities include communicating with staff members at all three site locations (Greenville Memorial Hospital, Oconee Memorial Hospital, Baptist Easley Hospital) to ensure study protocols are being implemented appropriately and maintaining study compliance across all sites. This entails periodically conducting site visits and performing consents at all sites as needed with the primary site location at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

50% - Recruiting Participants, Screening Participants, Administering Informed Consent, and Conducting Baseline Assessments. Responsibilities include in-person daily screening of potentially eligible patients, informing patients of the study details, providing recovery information, administering informed consent, and conducting baseline assessments. The position entails maintaining an average recruitment of at least 6 participants per week.

15% - Administering and Documenting Research Assessments. Responsibilities include administering baseline in-person assessments daily and distributing, maintaining, and documenting all follow-up assessments as well as providing compensation to participants for assessment completion. The position entails maintaining a retention level of at least 70% of participants by the end of the study period.

5% - Scheduling and Coordinating meetings. Scheduling responsibilities include scheduling Creative Inquiry undergraduate student schedules as well as coordinating control vs. intervention condition communication with peer support specialists and other research staff. Duties may include attending meetings, leading meetings and sending out reminders, creating agendas, and documenting meeting minutes

Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in a related field and work experience directly related to the assigned research area; or a high school diploma and advanced journey-level work experience in a clinical or research setting.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION:

Expected Salary Range

$45,300.00 - $61,100.00

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL:

Normal Operations - Required to follow emergency facility closure and modified operations directives, and not normally expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
