Job Overview

The Extended Reality (XR) Laboratory, directed by Professor Ming Tang within the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning, is seeking a part-time Research Assistant. This role involves supporting ongoing research and development initiatives at the intersection of artificial intelligence, workforce training, and digital heritage preservation.

Essential Functions

  • Create 3D models and generate digital assets for XR environments.
  • Design and implement runtime data collection methodologies.
  • Develop XR applications for VR headset platforms.
  • Support generative AI and procedural modeling workflows for building imaging.
  • Document research methods, results and findings in technical reports and presentations.
  • Conduct literature reviews and contribute to the development of novel research approaches.

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.

Required Experience

XR app development using Unreal Engine.
