Research Assistant (Communication/Psychology/Sociology/Social Science)

Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) is looking for a candidate to join them as a Research Assistant who will work closely with the Director of the Centre for Healthy and Sustainable Cities (CHESS) and manage the running of the centre located at Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information.

CHESS is an interdisciplinary research centre devoted to projects on health, risk and environmental issues from human-centred perspectives in the Asian context. As one of the research centres in COOL ASIA, CHESS draws upon theories and concepts from communication and information science, bringing into play the interaction of technology — new, emerging and future — with human behaviours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily operational, administrative, and logistics duties related to project management, including financial operations, social media updates, and the organization of symposia, training workshops, coordinating student helpers;

  • Help conduct interviews, quantitative and qualitative analyses, desk research, and write reports

  • Help in writing grant proposals and reports

Job Requirements:

  • Graduated with a Bachelor degree in Communication/ Psychology/ Sociology/ Social Science

  • Have relevant experience in academic research, especially in conducting online surveys

  • Demonstrable intellectual excellence

  • Maturity and capacity to begin an independent research career

  • Desire and potential to develop as a future academic leader
