The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU is a research-intensive school encompassing mathematics, physics, and chemistry, with strong emphasis on interdisciplinary research and real-world impact.

SPMS is seeking to hire a Research Assistant to advance robust optimization methods for urban drone logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Research Assistant will develop distributionally robust optimization (DRO) models that account for data uncertainty and quality degradation in demand forecasting and fleet scheduling.

  • The Research Assistant will also design scalable solution algorithms and validate findings through computational studies, with the goal of publishing in leading operations research and management science journals.

Job Requirements:

  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor in Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.

  • A strong foundation in stochastic or distributionally robust optimization is required.

  • Proficiency in Python with experience in solvers such as Gurobi or CPLEX, is required.
