Job Description
The research fellow position focuses on embodied robotic systems, particularly self-reconfigurable robots, robotic mobility and manipulation, force-aware interaction and control, and intelligent decision-making. The appointee will develop integrated sensing–actuation–control platforms through hardware–software co-design, conduct high-impact research, publish in leading journals and conferences, support research proposals, and mentor students.
Qualifications
• A Ph.D. in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong expertise in one or more of the following areas: robotic mobility or manipulation, embodied intelligence, self-reconfigurable or compliant robotics, force or tactile sensing, intelligent control, multibody modeling, or multimodal human–robot interaction.
• A strong publication record, including multiple papers in leading robotics and mechatronics journals such as IEEE T-RO, IJRR, Soft Robotics, or equivalent venues.
• Publications in Nature Portfolio, Science family journals, or comparable high-impact multidisciplinary journals will be considered a strong advantage.
• Hands-on experience in robotic modeling, control, prototyping, system integration, and experimental validation.
• Ability to conduct independent research and communicate effectively in English for the purpose of research presentations and preparing research reports.
