Grade: 10

Salary: $21.23 -$25.55

The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified hourly, part time Research Support Assistant II for a short-term position to investigate neural activity and serotonin biosensor signals obtained from brain tissue in preclinical models of stress and fear generalization

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include:

  • Preprocessing and normalization of simultaneous neural activity and serotonin signals;
  • Implementing and validating three computational analyses: multivariate Hidden Markov Models, Representational Similarity Analysis, and linear decoding with permutation testing
  • Extracting per-animal metrics for group-level statistical comparison;
  • Generating publication-quality figures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in science and/or information technology
  • At least (1) Year experience with Python and MATLAB
  • At least (1) Year experience analyzing time series signals
  • At least (1) Year experience with probabilistic classification models in NumPy, SciPy, and SciKit-learn

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least (1) Year experience with probabilistic modeling or dynamical systems;
  • Familiarity with neuroscience or biosensor data;
  • Prior exposure to HiddenMarkov Models or representational similarity analysis
