Responsibilities
What You'll Do
As a Resident Activities Aide, you'll help create meaningful opportunities for residents to stay active, connected, engaged, and involved.
Your day may include:
- Helping plan and lead fun, engaging recreational and social activities
- Encouraging residents to participate in activities that match their interests and abilities
- Spending one-on-one time with residents and getting to know what makes them smile
- Supporting special events, holiday celebrations, entertainment, outings, and community activities
- Working with volunteers, community organizations, and special guests to bring new experiences to residents
- Helping maintain activity supplies, equipment, and department inventory
- Documenting resident participation and sharing observations with the care team
- Helping create an environment where every resident feels welcomed, included, and valued
No two days have to look the same. One day might involve a craft or game, while another could include a birthday celebration, an outing, live entertainment, or simply connecting with a resident over a conversation.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Minimum 18 yrs. age required, HS diploma or equivalent required.
Valid New York Driver’s License and clean driving record required.
Ability to develop good relationships with staff, volunteers, families and visitors required.
Ability to inspire and motivate others, create a warm and accepting climate for residents and be able to adapt and modify activities to meet their needs required.
Understanding of the rights and needs of residents required.
Physical stamina for constant activity required.
This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
