Job Summary
We are looking for a highly capable Resident Architect to lead the on-site implementation of a major infrastructure development project. This role will serve as a key liaison between the Client, Consultants, and Contractors, ensuring seamless coordination and successful project delivery.
The Resident Architect will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities are executed in accordance with approved designs, specifications, and quality standards, while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and ensure all site works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and design intent
- Monitor construction progress, track milestones, and prepare regular progress reports
- Act as the primary coordination point between consultants, contractors, and the client on all site-related matters
- Review and approve shop drawings, materials submissions, and method statements in collaboration with project stakeholders
- Ensure full compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and statutory requirements
- Identify design discrepancies and provide practical, on-site technical solutions
- Plan, implement, and continuously monitor site activities to ensure timely project delivery
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to standards
- Prepare and review site reports, progress updates, and quality documentation
- Assist in resolving technical challenges, construction issues, and contractual matters
- Proactively identify risks, delays, and potential variations, and implement mitigation strategies

Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture
- Minimum 5 years of relevant site experience, preferably in commercial or large-scale projects
- Registered Architect with Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (LAM)
- Strong technical knowledge in architectural detailing, materials, and construction methodologies
- Familiar with Malaysian regulations and standards such as UBBL, CIDB Act 520, OSHA, GBI, and QLASSIC
- Strong understanding of contract administration and site coordination processes
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to site challenges
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an added advantage
